In the heart of Lemont, this stunning Victorian home is filled with history and captivating charm. The kitchen, a beloved space for the family for the past 20 years, is now due for a rejuvenation. By replacing the existing picture window with a new one, adding marble countertops and a stylish backsplash, and updating hardware and appliances, the area has been revitalized. Subtle enhancements, like painting the walls a warm creamy hue from Claire Paint, adding a new light fixture from DeVOL Kitchens and incorporating decor that reflects the clients' personalities, infused the space with color and character.

Meet the Madisons
25 weeks into her pregnancy, Katya and her husband Caleb were enjoying their babymoon four hours from home when they rushed to a nearby ER, discovering that Katya's water had broken. With the hospital lacking a NICU, they faced the daunting prospect of either delivering their baby that night or spending months away from home, missing Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's in a distant hospital. Taking a chance, Caleb and Katya decided to drive through the night to their home hospital, prioritizing proximity and critical NICU for Simon’s survival. Katya spent six weeks in the antepartum special care unit, doing everything possible to delay delivery, but ultimately Simon was born eight weeks early at 32, weighing 4lbs 14oz. He spent four weeks in the NICU, gaining strength in his lungs and learning to feed independently. When Katya was hospitalized, she was still in her second trimester and unprepared for Simon's early arrival. Their expectations for pregnancy and welcoming a newborn were turned upside down, transforming what have been a joyful time into one filled with fear and uncertainty. After Simon's birth Katya faced the dual challenge of recovering from labor and six weeks of bed rest. Though relieved to finally bring Simon home, their days quickly became a blur of recovery, pumping, and trips to the NICU, leaving little time to breathe. Now that Simon is home, Katya and Caleb are finally able to pause and begin creating a joyful and thoughtful space for him I was happy to partner with the NICU Nursery Project to help create this dream nursery for their family, allowing them to bring their baby home and giving back to my NICU as a NICU mom myself.
